Perennial of the Primulaceae family.
Origin: Japan, Korea, Russian Far East and China (possibly of cultivated origin).
Winner of the Garden Merit (A.G.M.) Award from the Royal Horticultural Society.
The species is named after the German physician Philipp Franz von Siebold (1796-1866), who, while teaching medicine in Japan, collected more than 1000 botanical specimens.
Flower color: white, pink or purple with a white throat - large, up to 2.5 cm in diameter, collected by 6-15 in loose umbrella-shaped, very decorative inflorescences.
Blooms in May-June for 20-25 days.
Height of flowering plant: 25-30 cm.
Winter hardiness zones: Z4 - Z7.
Distance between plants: 30 cm.
Soil requirements: moist, fertile, rich in humus. On loose fertile soil it grows well thanks to thin, long, branching rhizomes.
Use: for rock garden, suitable for cutting.
